Senior Project Officer - VPS5 equivalent

A specialist Victorian court is looking for an experienced Senior Project Officer to support the implementation of Aboriginal family violence reform projects.

About the role:

  • Provide specialist knowledge regarding family violence
  • Lead the development and alignment of culturally appropriate response
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Lead engagement with Aboriginal community members and stakeholders
  • Advise on appropriate training for specialist court staff
  • Support the Team Leader as required
  • Provide written reports and program data within appropriate time frames
  • Participate in regular supervision and planning sessions with Koori Family Violence unit
  • Represent courts when required

About you:

  • Is an Aboriginal and/or Torres Straight Islander person
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Aboriginal community
  • Can communicate effectively and sensitively Aboriginal community stakeholders
  • Experience in project management relating to family violence
  • Understanding of the impact of family violence on the Aboriginal community
  • Understanding of current Victorian Aboriginal Family Violence policy context
  • Prior experience at the VPS5 equivalent level in government
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills at all levels
  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and written
