Authority Board Member - National Capital Authority
The National Capital Authority is established under the Australian Capital Territory (Planning and Land Management) Act 1988. The NCA is an Australian Government agency responsible to the Assistant Minister for Regional Development and Territories and performs the role as trustee of the National Capital.
The NCA is responsible for shaping the National Capital into the future, managing and enhancing the nationally significant parts of Canberra, and fostering awareness of Canberra as Australia's National Capital. Its mission is to advance the National Capital as a valued and respected place for all Australians by ensuring it is well planned, managed and promoted consistent with its enduring national significance.
The NCA's Board is the accountable authority and sets the strategic direction for the organisation and monitors its performance and outcomes. It meets six times a year and is accountable for developing effective business strategies, supporting sound analysis, judgement and intelligence, and fostering productive relationships with NCA stakeholders and partners.
This Authority Board Member position requires someone with substantial high-level experience in strategic leadership, planning, design and place making, heritage, marketing and communications strategies, business development and promotion of assets of national significance. A high level of personal drive, integrity, and strong communication skills are essential.
