Leadership development No 1 priority for 2016
New research from Hudson has uncovered leadership development as the top people priority for Australian and New Zealand HR decision-makers in 2016.
The research, The Hudson Leadership Survey 2015, asked HR business leaders to rank their people priorities for 2015, and again for 2016.
For both years, leadership development topped the list of 10 people priorities.
“It’s clear that identifying, hiring and developing leaders are all an ongoing focus for HR leaders,” says Simon Moylan, Executive General Manager, Hudson Talent Management Asia Pacific.
“A strategic approach and clear plan in these areas will help ensure they succeed in setting their organisations up for success.”
Talent pipeline No 2 priority for 2016
Talent pipeline & succession planning came in second as a people priority for the year ahead, according to the Hudson survey.
This is in contrast to the year just gone, when HR leaders placed talent pipeline fourth on the list of 2015 priorities.
“HR leaders are clearly focused on the talent issue as they look ahead to 2016,” says Mr Moylan.
“They are planning to grow their leadership talent rather than buying it in. I predict we’ll see a lot of activity in this space as we approach and cross into the New Year.”
